Scant Site Series

This series explores the idea of natural resource depletion. The rate of consumption is far outpacing the ability to replenish what is being used. The resources most at risk of being depleted are minerals, water, and forests. The image elements from these types of resources interact with one another within various color fields to present an environment that humanity is edging towards.

To create this work, I digitally edited photographed textures, trees and water together to create the main subjects. These image elements were then printed on canvas and masked off to provide space to work into the surrounding environment. Each background use various techniques such as airbrush, stencilling, ink, and pallet knife painting to complete the process.
